Everything people ask
What is WhatsWhere?
A mobile web app that remembers where your things are. Photograph a bag, box, shelf or drawer; the AI lists what is in it; and later ask “where is it?” by voice or typing to get the answer with the photo as proof, down to the drawer.
How is it different from a notes app or a spreadsheet?
You don’t type lists: a photo becomes the list. Every answer comes with the photograph it is based on, it knows the exact cupboard and drawer, and it handles boxes moving between places — which a note or a sheet can’t follow.
Do I have to confirm everything the AI finds?
No. Confirming is optional. Unconfirmed things are still searchable and are clearly marked “not confirmed” so an answer never presents a guess as a fact.
Can I ask by voice?
Yes. Tap the microphone and ask “where are the winter blankets?”. The answer is read back to you if you asked out loud. Speech is turned into text on your phone.
What if something doesn’t photograph well?
Type its name — documents, keys, anything already wrapped. It is filed in the same place and found the same way.
Can I use it for travel and luggage?
Yes. Treat each bag or suitcase as a box: photograph it as you pack, and ask on the trip which bag has what. The dated photos also help with a lost or delayed baggage claim.
Can I track things across several homes or a storage unit?
Yes. Add any number of locations — homes, a parent’s flat, a storage unit, an office — each with its own rooms, cupboards and drawers. Answers name the location first.
Can a company use it — events, warehouses, offices?
Yes. Run many moves at once between any locations (warehouse to venue and back), reuse the same crates on every trip, print QR labels, and invite a team with “can record” or “look only” access.
What are QR labels for?
Print a label for each box, crate or bag. Scanning it with a phone shows what is inside — without opening it — and opens that box in the app to pack or unpack.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Photos are kept on your phone and upload on their own when you are back online. Packing in a basement or a godown is normal use.
Where are my photos stored?
Full-size photos and the master copy of your records are stored in your own Google Drive, in a folder the app creates. Our server keeps a working copy of your records, small thumbnails and a search index so the app is fast.
Can the app see the rest of my Google Drive?
No. It uses Google’s drive.file permission, which only lets it open files and folders it created itself.
Who can see my things?
Only you and people you invite to your Space. You decide whether each person can record or only look.
Is my data used to train AI?
We do not use your photos or records to train our own models. Photos are read by Google’s Gemini AI under Google’s API terms.
Do I need to download an app?
No. It runs in your phone’s browser and can be added to your home screen. Sign in with Google.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes — on any modern phone browser, and on a laptop or tablet too.
Can it help with a damage or insurance claim?
Yes. You can record condition photos before a box is sealed and after it arrives, and print a damage report with the before-and-after photos side by side.
How do I delete my data?
Delete photos or boxes in the app (their Drive files go too), delete the folder in your Drive, or email us to delete your account and everything our server holds. See the privacy policy.
Stop wondering where it went.
Sign in with Google and photograph your first bag, box or drawer. It takes a minute.
